This is for a class project and I can't exceed $8 dollars to make it. Nothing fancy, knowing my spending amount.Recipe for homemade lip balm/gloss?
Chocolate Lip Gloss
3 tablespoons cocoa butter
4 or 5 chocolate chips
1 capsule vitamin E
Melt all ingredients in a double boiler, and then blend with a spoon until the mixture is very smooth. Put into a container and refrigerate until solid.
Cranberry Lip Gloss
1 tablespoon almond oil
10 fresh cranberries
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon petroleum jelly (optional - for more shine)
Mix all the ingredients and then place them in a microwave or heat-resistant container. Heat in the microwave or a water bath until the mixture just begins to boil (1-2 minutes in the microwave). Stir well and gently mash the berries. Let the mixture stand for at least 5 minutes.
Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove all pieces of cranberry. Stir and allow to cool completely. When cool, spoon into a clean container.
To use: Spread a small amount onto your lips.
Vanilla Lip Gloss
1 tablespoon grated beeswax
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/8 teaspoon vitamin E oil
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place the beeswax, coconut oil and vitamin E oil in an ovenproof container. Heat gently until the wax and oils are melted. Stir in the vanilla extract and mix well. Pour the mixture into a clean container and allow to cool completely before using.
This is a fun and easy recipe!! Who would have known that Kool-Aid makes great lip-gloss?

1 tablespoon Kool-Aid drink mix of your choice (powdered, with sugar already added)

candy flavored lip gloss:
2 tsp cosmetic grade beeswax, finely grated (health and craft food stores)
2 tbsp oil (sweet almond oil is best, but any kind will do)
1 tsp tint (use red or orange lipstick for cherry or orange, or finely crushed yellow or green powder eyeshadow for lemon or lime)
1 tsp honey
few drops essential oil (cherry, orange, lemon, or lime)
1 to 2 clean dry containers (like lip gloss containers or film canisters)
in small saucepan combine beeswax, oil, and lipstick (if using) over low heat, stirring until melted. remove from heat. mix in the honey.
after mixture has cooled a bit, stir in essential oil and eyeshadow (if using) and mix well. cool a bit more, then transfer to containers and allow to set.
makes about 1 1/2 ozs

Combine everything in a small glass bowl, microwave 1 minute until melted.
give mixture a quick stir to blend. transfer to lip gloss containers. allow to cool or stick it in the fridge utnil set.
makes about 2 ozs
DON'T EAT IT! UNEDIBLE!
take a small container and put in some pure vegetable shortening and add a packet of koolaid flavoring of any kind. mix it together really well.
vaseline can look like lip gloss and eye make up it just glosses it up
PETROLEUM JELLY! best thing ever don't use anything else.

it is good for your lips and it is the same texture as lipgloss. use any of the above three. i usually put petroleum jelly %26amp; mix it with peppermint flavoring. yum!
